Amazon Signage Setup
1. Check Your Hardware
Before you begin, confirm you have everything in the box:
You will need:
Amazon Signage Stick
Remote with batteries
Power adapter and cable
HDMI extender (included, for tight spaces)
2. Connect the Stick to Your Display
Plug the Signage Stick into an available HDMI port on your display. If space is tight, use the included HDMI extender.
Connect the power adapter to the Stick and plug it into a reliable power outlet.
Turn on the display and switch it to the correct HDMI source.
You should see the Amazon boot screen within 30–60 seconds.
If the screen stays black:
Confirm the display is on the correct HDMI input
Confirm the Stick's power light is on
Try a different HDMI port if you suspect a bad port
3. Complete Initial Amazon Setup
Follow the on-screen directions using the remote.
When prompted, press Play/Pause on the remote to start. If nothing happens, replace the batteries or press and hold Home for 10 seconds to force pair the remote.
Select your language.
Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Use a stable, always-on network — avoid guest networks that require a browser login or have session timeouts.
If prompted to sign in to an Amazon account, use a store or company account — not a personal one — so you can manage devices centrally. Skip any optional consumer features (Prime Video trials, parental controls, etc.).
Once connected, the Stick will display a pairing code.
Leave this screen visible — you will need the pairing code in the next step.
4. Register the Stick in the Amazon Signage Console
On a computer, go to console.signage.amazon.com.
Select Add Stick.
Enter the pairing code from the TV and select Verify.
Select Next on the confirmation screen.
In the list of content management systems, search for
Menuboard Manager, select it, then select Next.
Review the summary showing your pairing code and CMS, then select Add Stick.
A pop-up will confirm the Stick is setting up. Select Go to Home.
Your display will cycle through the following setup screens automatically.
5. Enter Your Menuboard Manager Environment
Once setup is complete, your display will show a Menuboard Manager screen with a QR code and an environment field.
To type using the remote:
Tap the right side of the navigation ring, then tap the center button to open the keyboard.
Enter your environment name, code, or URL, then select Next.
6. Activate Your Display
Your display will show a Menuboard Manager registration screen with an activation code at the bottom.
Email the activation code to [email protected] or start a chat at menuboardmanager.com to have your display activated.
If you are setting up multiple displays, note which activation code belongs to which screen (for example: far left, middle, far right in a multi-display array) and include that in your message.
7. Assign a Location in Menuboard Manager
Once your display is activated, log in to your Menuboard Manager account and assign content to the display.
Go to Units and find your new Signage Stick.
Choose the Location, Sign, and relevant Tags.
Save your changes and click Reload App.
Within a few seconds, the TV should switch from the setup screen to your assigned menu presentation.
8. Test Your Setup
Before calling it done, confirm that updates publish correctly end-to-end.
Open a menu presentation assigned to this display in Menuboard Manager.
Make a small, visible test change — such as temporarily changing a price or adding "TEST" to a header.
Save and publish the presentation.
Watch the TV and confirm the change appears.
Remove the test change and republish.
This confirms internet connectivity, the player app, Menuboard Manager, and the display are all working together correctly.
9. Prevent Accidental Exit
To keep the display showing your menus:
In Amazon Settings > Power, set the sleep timer to the maximum or disable it, and turn off any screen savers.
Train staff to avoid the Home and Back buttons — they should only power the TV on and off.
If your deployment uses a managed MDM solution, enroll the Stick so it boots directly into the signage app.
Troubleshooting
The display stays black after plugging in
Check that the display is on the correct HDMI input.
Confirm the Stick's power light is on.
Try a different HDMI port.
Power-cycle by unplugging the Stick for 15 seconds and reconnecting.
Remote is not responding
Replace the remote batteries.
Press and hold Home for about 10 seconds to force re-pair the remote.
Power-cycle the Stick.
Display is stuck on "Connecting"
Confirm the Wi-Fi password is correct and the Stick has internet access.
Try a different network if the current one blocks outbound traffic.
Check that the Stick's date and time are correct — an incorrect clock can break secure connections.
The wrong presentation is playing
In Menuboard Manager, confirm which device is assigned to this display.
Verify the device name matches the physical location.
Check whether a schedule is overriding your default presentation.
