Updating Samsung Display Firmware

Samsung display firmware can be updated two ways: remotely through the Menuboard Manager Units Manager, or locally via USB.

Option A: Remote Update via Units Manager

Use this method when the display is online and accessible from Menuboard Manager.

  1. Log in to your Menuboard Manager account.

  2. Open the Units app from the app selector at the top of the page.

  3. Find the unit you want to update using the search bar or by scrolling the list.

  4. Under Remote Management Tools, click the Select Firmware dropdown and choose the firmware version to install.

  5. Click Update Firmware.

  6. Do not power off the unit while the update is in progress — interrupting the process can brick the unit.

  7. The unit will reboot automatically when the update is complete.

If you encounter any issues during the update, contact Menuboard Manager support for assistance.

Option B: USB Update

Use this method when the display is offline or a remote update is not possible.

  1. Download the firmware file from Menuboard Manager support.

  2. Copy the firmware file to a USB thumb drive formatted as FAT32.

  3. Insert the USB drive into the display.

  4. Using the Samsung remote, press Menu.

  5. Navigate to Support > Contact Support > Software Update.

  6. Press Update Now.

  7. Select Update via USB.
