Scheduling & Rotating Presentations

Menuboard Manager supports two ways to control when and how presentations play on a sign: timed rotation (cycling between presentations automatically) and day parting (showing different presentations at different times of day).

Timed Rotation

Use timed rotation to cycle between multiple presentations on a fixed interval. This is especially useful when working with dynamic text fields or POS integration, where each presentation needs its own set of fields tied to a specific image or video background.

  1. Create a sign.

  2. Add or create multiple presentations on the sign.

  3. On the Sign page, open the Sign Properties tab.

  4. Change the Sign Scheduling dropdown to Rotate presentations on a timed interval.

  5. Set your preferred interval.

  6. Publish the sign.

Day Parting

Use day parting to show different presentations at different times of day β€” for example, a breakfast menu in the morning and a lunch menu at midday. Day parting is available on Starter subscriptions and above. Pro and Business subscribers have access to more advanced scheduling options.

  1. Edit a sign.

  2. On the Sign page, click the Schedule tab.

  3. Create a new schedule or assign an existing one.

  4. On the Schedule tab, you'll see a 24-hour timeline.

  5. Add time slots to the timeline for each day part.

  6. Open the Presentations tray below the timeline.

  7. Drag presentations into the time slots.

  8. Drag slots along the timeline to adjust the timing.

  9. Changes are saved automatically.

Pro tip: To force a specific presentation to play outside of its scheduled time β€” for testing or a temporary override β€” go to Units, double-click the unit, and manually select the presentation from the dropdown on the right. When you're done, select Resume Schedule from the same dropdown.

Advanced Calendar Scheduling (Pro & Business)

Pro and Business subscribers can use the calendar-style scheduler to assign specific presentations to specific days and times β€” including recurring schedules.

  1. Navigate to the sign page of the sign you want to schedule.

  2. Click Create Schedule.

  3. Drag presentations onto the calendar view to assign them to time slots.

  4. To set a recurring schedule (e.g. a lunch menu every weekday), configure the recurrence options within each presentation slot.

  5. Save the schedule and publish the sign.
