Dark Mode

Switch Menuboard Manager Studio between Light, Dark, and Follow System color modes to reduce eye fatigue in any lighting environment

Written by Marc Rosenberg

Dark Mode

Menuboard Manager Studio supports Dark Mode — a color scheme that replaces white and near-white surfaces with dark neutrals to reduce eye fatigue. This is especially useful in low-light environments like back-of-house kitchens, late-night editing sessions, and dimly lit production areas.

Choosing a Color Mode

Open your account menu (top-right corner) and select Appearance. Three options are available:

Mode

What it does

Follow System (default)

Matches your operating system's current Light or Dark setting. If your OS switches modes, Studio follows automatically.

Light

Always uses the light (white) color scheme, regardless of your OS setting.

Dark

Always uses the dark color scheme, regardless of your OS setting.

Your selection is saved to your account and applies across all browsers and devices where you are signed in.

What Dark Mode Affects

Dark Mode applies to white and near-white UI surfaces — panels, backgrounds, inputs, cards, and modals.

Colored UI areas are intentionally preserved. Branded headers, colored buttons, status indicators, and other non-neutral elements keep their colors in both Light and Dark mode. Dark mode is not a full inversion of the interface.
