Setup Axis camera for BrightSign, MIMO with BrightSign

Axis Camera P1224e Configuration

Requirements:

  • Axis P1224e camera

  • PoE switch or injector

  • BrightSign or MIMO with BrightSign

  • Camera network settings (DHCP or static IP)

  • Camera IP must be known

  • Camera configured to allow anonymous RTSP settings (instructions below)

Setup MIMO or BrightSign

  1. Download BS setup files to include network config (DHCP or static IP)

  2. Unzip the file on your PC

  3. Power the MIMO/BS off

  4. Remove the SD card from the MIMO and insert it into your PC

  5. Delete any existing files from the SD card or format it as FAT32

  6. Copy files from the unzipped folder to the SD card

  7. Eject the SD card and insert it into the MIMO

  8. Power the MIMO on

  9. Let it run the firmware update and reboot a few times

  10. When the "Installation Complete" screen appears, setup is done

  11. Provision the unit in Menuboard Manager

Menuboard Manager Sign & Presentation

  1. Duplicate an existing MIMO folder or create a new sign and presentation for MIMO

  2. Use the "Mimo Monitor Banner.png" image below as a background

  3. Paste the following into the HTML tab: <div style="position:absolute; top: 1033px; left: 1560px; font-size:30px; color:red;">menuboardmanager.com</div>

  4. Enter the RTSP URL in the presentation properties

  5. Publish the presentation to a location

  6. Reload the app

Instructions to Allow Anonymous on Axis Camera

For remote support, use TeamViewer software (free download here).

  1. TeamViewer into the technician's PC using their partner code and password

  2. In Google Chrome, navigate to the camera's IP address — for example, 10.125.21.18. If you do not know the camera's IP, use the Axis IP Utility to find it. The default username & password are root / pass

  3. Select Settings, then System Settings

  4. Select Advanced

  5. Select Plain Configuration

  6. Select Network

  7. Scroll to the bottom of the Network settings page

  8. In the RTSP settings, confirm the settings match the screenshot below
