Media Playlists can be either image, video, or mixed media in landscape or portrait.

Disabling audio when exporting your video from your encoding software (Adobe Media Encoder or similar software) is strongly advised.

Note: Portrait-oriented content will appear rotated -90 degrees in the Menuboard Manager® Media Gallery. Since the monitor is installed vertically, it will appear normal on-screen.

Video Formats & Frame Rates

Note: Higher bit rates might still work but are not recommended as the video size will become unnecessarily large. For example, increasing the bit rate from 20 to 60 will more than double the video size.

Note: Multiple 4K videos in a single Presentation Playlist is not supported on Samsung displays. If you require multiple 4K videos, either create one, long 4K video or put 4K videos into separate Presentation Playlists.

Video Playlist Limitations:

When creating multiple video playlists, adhere to the following specifications:

    • Resolution:

    • All videos must have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (HD).

    • Frames Per Second (FPS):

    • FPS should be equal to or less than 30.

    • Ensure consistency in FPS across all videos within the playlist.

Single Video Playlist:

For a single video playlist, consider the following guidelines:

  • Resolution:

    • Videos can be either HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) or 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels).

  • Frames Per Second (FPS):

    • FPS should not exceed 30.

  • Resolution Adjustment:

    • Regardless of the original resolution (HD or 4K), videos will be downscaled to HD (1080p) for playback.

Special Cases:

Playing 4K and 8K videos may require the utilization of native APIs due to their high resolution and potential compatibility issues.

Important Notes:

  • Resolution Mixing: Mixing HD and 4K videos in the same playlist is not supported. Ensure consistency in video resolutions.

  • Multiple 4K Videos Playlist: Creating playlists with multiple 4K videos is not supported due to potential performance limitations and compatibility issues.

Conclusion:

By adhering to these guidelines and limitations, you can maximize compatibility and ensure smooth video playback for your menu board manager. If you encounter any issues or require further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team for help.
