Install Menuboard Manager on Chromecast with Google TV (2023 Model)

Menuboard Manager can run on a Chromecast with Google TV (2023 or newer).

Unpack the Chromecast, remote, power supply, cord, and batteries

Connect the Chromecast to your TV or monitor

Set the TV or monitor to the HDMI input you connected the Chromecast to

Allow time for any software updates &amp; initial setup

1. Press Home
2. Go to Settings
3. Go to Apps
4. Select See All Apps
5. Select Show System Apps
6. Select Google Play Store
7. Search for Menuboard Manager in the Google Play Store
8. Install Menuboard Manager
9. Open Menuboard Manager
10. Scan the on-screen QR code to go to the Android support page
11. Initiate a chat with Menuboard Manager support to get the URL
12. Enter the URL provided by our support team
13. Click "Allow Access" to photos &amp; videos when prompted
14. Disable casting as a security precaution (instructions below)
15. Disable Ambient Mode to prevent the screensaver from starting (instructions below)
16. Turn on App Only mode to simplify the home screen (instructions below)

1. Unpack the Chromecast, remote, power supply, cord, and batteries
2. Install batteries in the remote
3. Attach the power cable to the Chromecast
4. Connect the Chromecast to your TV or monitor
5. Power on the TV or monitor
6. Set the TV or monitor to the HDMI input you connected the Chromecast to
7. Select your language
8. Connect the Chromecast to Wi-Fi
9. Sign in with your Google Account
10. Allow time for any software updates &amp; initial setup
11. Go to the Google Play Store:
    1. Press Home
    2. Go to Settings
    3. Go to Apps
    4. Select See All Apps
    5. Select Show System Apps
    6. Select Google Play Store
    7. Search for Menuboard Manager in the Google Play Store
    8. Install Menuboard Manager
    9. Open Menuboard Manager
    10. Scan the on-screen QR code to go to the Android support page
    11. Initiate a chat with Menuboard Manager support to get the URL
    12. Enter the URL provided by our support team
    13. Click "Allow Access" to photos &amp; videos when prompted
    14. Disable casting as a security precaution (instructions below)

Recommended Chromecast &amp; Google TV Security Settings

The ability to cast or stream media from other devices to a Chromecast with Google TV can leave your device vulnerable to unauthorized access. The casting feature also makes your device publicly discoverable, increasing its susceptibility to potential attacks.

Disable Casting on Chromecast and Google TV

To help secure your device, follow the instructions below to disable the casting feature.

1. Press Home
2. Go to Settings
3. Go to Casting
4. Disable Casting

Uninstall All Apps Except Menuboard Manager

Go to each app, long-press, and select "View Details"

3. Select Uninstall

Disable Ambient Mode App (Screensaver)

Go to the Ambient Mode app and disable it

1. Press Home
2. Go to Settings
3. Go to Apps
4. Go to the Ambient Mode app and disable it

Turn On App-Only Mode to Simplify the Home Screen

1. Press Home
2. Go to Settings
3. Go to Accounts &amp; Sign In
4. Enable "Apps only mode"
5. Press Home to see the changes
